Second Life (click to visit the website) is a 3D online game, a fantasy world build by players from all over the world. People can do whatever you want in Second Life, just create an avatar then you can start the tour.
And remember don't take too much time choosing it, of course you can change the appearance during the game, including the gender!
It imitates everything from the real world, that's why it called "second life." What's more, second life also apply on lots of professional technique, such as interior design, architectural design, human anatomy, etc.
The system will teach new members basic skills to control your avatar, and bring you to a new-member-friendly state. What I love the most is we can fly in the world! The picture below is the land owned by our teacher, and we can built anything on it. Besides, there are lots of free objects and animation we can use, we still have to spend money for special stuffs. Luckily, each of our classmate got 1000 dollars from teacher.
In the first class, I walked and fly around to get accustomed to the world. With teacher's advice, we go to a place named Freebie Galaxy and shop for free objects, buy new clothes. I bought a vintage blue dress and change my hair style to blonde curly hair. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of my new style, I will learn to use the camera and take pictures from different angles and show you the beautiful world in Second life.
But how do we travel in such a big world? There's a function that you can "teleport" the avatar to any place on the map. We were added to a group and you can teleport your friend to your place. As a beginner, I traveled by using the categories of many places with different themes, it will tell you how many users is on the state now. Just go and chat with someone to meet new friends from the world. I'm so looking forward to the next class!
